Digital Tools Projects HomeThis is a featured page

Welcome!

If your district received a "digital tools" grant in 2008-09 from the Office of Educational Technology at the New Hampshire Department of Education and funded through the NCLB Title IID Program, then this is the place to be!

Notice the links on the menu bar at the left. They will take you to important information. If you received one of these grants, you are required to use this website to post updated information about your projects. This tool was chosen specifically because of its sharing and collaboration features:

  • The discussion forum allows you to discuss your digital tools purchases with other grantees, ask questions about prices on things, tell others what works, tell others about other models you "wish" you had purchased instead, and so on. To get to it, CLICK ON THE TAB next to the home link on the top toolbar.
  • Please check the data collection timeline regularly, so you don't miss critical deadlines.
  • Notice the matrix page which describes the kinds of tools being used by projects.
  • Notice the study groupings page. You should update the information about your project there.
  • Notice the evaluation plans page. You should update the information about your evaluation plans there.
  • There is a whole section for resources. You can click the small arrow next to the word "resources" to get to more pages of resources.
  • Please join the discussions, add more details, add photos, etc. and help us grow this site!

Chester Academy is purchasing 6 document cameras for our digital tools project. I attended a workshop on the AverVision CP 300 at the Christa McAuliffe Technology Conference and decided to purchase that model. Sean McCann from AverMedia was very helpful and is willing to provide training sessions. I'd be happy to host a training session at Chester Academy. Anyone interested in attending? If so, I'll work with Sean to set it up. Brian Corasaniti from CDWG is the sales rep that we are working with. We've been very happy with his service and the prices. He works closey with Sean McCann as well. Brian's contact information is brian.corasaniti@cdwg.com and his phone number is 866-784-1625. Check out the CP300 at http://www.avermedia-usa.com/presentation/product_cp300.asp.
If you have questions, you can contact me at susank@chesteracademy.org.

Could any instructors out there recommend applications for Vernier tools for science applications. We have several probes including temperature, pH dissolved oxygen (I believe). Any recommendations out there for science lessons, or a web page that suggests lessons that work with Vernier tools?

g.naudascher Digital Tools Grant - Enhancing One-to One 0 Jan 8 2009, 9:33 AM EST by g.naudascher

The E2T2 Grant for Jaffrey-Rindge focuses on providing digital tools that will increase active student engagement and improve student performance at the elementary level, by intoducing several new technologies supported by professional development. The tools (Mobile SMARTBoard, Classroom Response System, and Document Camera will be shared by 4 to 5 classrooms and focus on mathematics.

Currently, the evaluation for the project focuses on comparing the rate of student engagement in the classrooms, before and after acquiring the digital tools and the percentage of students that met individual growth targets on the MAPs test.

I am interested in ways to use the technologies in a one-to-one situation, that will enable us to enhance our evaluation of the project's effectiveness.
